Telecoms veteran Stephen Brewer has joined Wisetek as Commercial Director
Telecoms veteran Stephen Brewer has joined Wisetek, a fast-growing recycler of ITequipment and Circular Economy pioneers, as commercial director after stepping down as managing director of telco Magnet Networks.
Brewer, who is best known for his role as chief executive of Eircell, Ireland’s first mobile network, is taking responsibility for business development, sales and marketing at Wisetek. The company, founded in 2007 by Sean Sheehan, collects and recycles computers, servers and other IT equipment for big companies including Dell, Disney and Olympus. Wisetek has 13 depots worldwide and employs 450 people. It is forecasting revenues of about €80m this year, up from €63m in 2019.
Brewer stepped down as managing director of Magnet Networks, a business telecoms provider, at the end of January, after about 18 months in the role. He said his “ideas and experience” would help to accelerate the growth at Wisetek.
The company has grown rapidly since buying US company Computer Discounters, in 2017. It is also expanding in Asia and the Middle East.
“Wisetek is in its next phase of growth and Stephen brings with him a wealth of international experience in both sales and marketing, as well as the energy to move the needle at the pace we need,” said Sheehan
