Receiving Deloitte Best Managed Company Award for the 4th consecutive year
Cork – 4th March 2019: Wisetek, a global leader in advanced IT asset disposal, data destruction, technology reuse and manufacturing services, has this weekend been presented with the Gold Standard accolade, having secured Best Managed status for four consecutive years. This award marks recognition for the company’s superior business performance, operational excellence and governance by Deloitte.
Commenting on the company’s achievement, Sean Sheehan, CEO, Wisetek, said: “We are delighted to be recognised once again by Deloitte for the standard we have set in managing our business, the work we have done in developing a real solution for the responsible disposal of aged IT hardware systems and for our ongoing expansion in international markets. This recognition is down to a team effort and the award belongs to everyone in Wisetek.”
Anya Cummins, Partner, Deloitte said: “The Best Managed Companies process is a rigorous one, examining every facet of an organisation. As ever, the spread of companies across a number of industries, underlines the importance of Irish and Northern Irish companies to the economy. In the midst of economic uncertainty, technology disruption, an open competitive market and full employment, the continued strong performance of these businesses is admirable.”
Wisetek was recently announced as the winner in The Large Company of the Year by Cork Chamber of Commerce. Last year it was announced as the winner of the Services Exporter of the Year award by the Irish Exporters Association. In January, the company announced its opening in the UK market with a facility in Reading. The Cork based company has previously expanded into the United States where it is located in Austin, Texas and Sacramento, California; the Middle East; and has a facility in Thailand, a platform to expand into further South-East Asian markets.
This year’s judging panel members were Frank Ryan, Chair of the Judging Panel; Brendan Jennings, CEO, Deloitte Ireland; Tom Hayes, Chief Executive, Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking; Siobhan McAleer, Commercial Director at the IMI; Rose Hynes, Chairman of the Shannon Group Board and Origin Enterprises; and Feargal Mooney, former Chief Executive Officer of HostelWorld.
