Wisetek raises vital funds for Movember initiative
Wisetek is pleased to announce that it has raised €2,140 for the Movember Foundation, the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health. Wisetek employees participated in Movember, an annual global event where participants grow a moustache to raise awareness and funds for the Movember Foundation. The foundation supports projects focussing on men’s health issues including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.
The Wisetek Movember team grew nine moustaches and moved over 600 kilometres in their fundraising efforts. Wisetek’s CEO, Sean Sheehan was one of the participants in the initiative.
Sean Sheehan, CEO of Wisetek said: “Wisetek is incredibly proud to have participated in Movember and to have raised funds for such a worthy cause. I would particularly like to thank the Wisetek employees who took part in the initiative for their efforts. Making a positive contribution to society is a core tenet of Wisetek’s culture. We work hard to be a sustainable organisation not only environmentally, but also socially. We hope our contribution helps in some way to advance the incredibly worthy and noble cause of the Movember Foundation.”
Wisetek facilitates numerous other CSR initiatives, to highlight responsible recycling in their local communities, schools and sports clubs. The company also sponsors the Cork GAA Ladies Minor Football team and in July 2020, Wisetek donated 10 iPads to Marymount University Hospital through its employee Christopher Joyce, a member of the Cork hurling team.
