Wisetek is proud to announce that we have been recognised with the Diversity, Inclusion and Social Impact Award at the recent annual it@cork Leaders Awards. The it@cork Leaders Awards recognise those who have delivered outstanding results in the use of technology, showcasing excellence in innovation, achievement, and commitment to the tech sector in the region.
Wisetek was recognised in part due to its work to promote the circular economy and sustainability. This includes the recent launch of its new direct to consumer e-commerce website, Wisetek Store which sells high quality refurbished IT equipment, an environmentally friendly alternative to manufacturing new equipment.
Sean Sheehan, CEO of Wisetek, said: “Wisetek is honoured to have been recognised for our efforts to promote and uphold standards in the area of diversity, inclusion and social impact. I attribute our success to the passion of our fantastic staff, who wholeheartedly believe in our purpose to provide an essential service for businesses, while promoting sustainability and operating within the circular economy.”
Wisetek has also established a partnership with the charity Tech2Schools to facilitate the donation of refurbished IT equipment from Irish businesses and entrepreneurs to schools in need of it. Additional corporate social responsibility initiatives that Wisetek has overseen include the donation of 400 deep cell batteries to The Deng Forest Community live in Kaeng Krachan National Park in Thailand to enable the community to become self-sustaining through solar energy.
In 2020, in an immediate response to Covid-19, Wisetek re-purposed one of its production lines to ensure it was capable of assembling up to 50 ventilators a day, which greatly assisted the Irish healthcare sector. The company utilised its global network of partner organisations to source parts for the ventilators and to arrange for the quick and secure delivery of them.
The Diversity, Inclusion and Social Impact Award at the it@cork Leaders Awards was sponsored by Deloitte.
