Wisetek Celebrates Earth Day 2021
21st April 2021: To mark Earth Day 2021 on 22nd April, Wisetek is calling on global companies to ethically manage their e-waste collection and destruction. Wisetek is offering businesses a free online IT asset disposition (ITAD) consultation to learn how to sustainably and securely dispose of their IT Assets.
The consultation, which is entirely free of charge, is running from 19th – 23rd April. An organisation’s ITAD processes can have a significant impact on its carbon footprint, but it remains an area that is often overlooked when it comes to sustainability. As leading experts in the ITAD industry, Wisetek can offer relevant and practical advice to ensure that an organisation’s processes for disposing of IT assets are both secure and environmentally sustainable.
The theme of Earth Day this year is ‘Restore Our Earth’. Earth Day is an annual event celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First celebrated in 1970, it now includes events coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries.
Sean Sheehan, CEO of Wisetek, said: “To mark Earth Day 2021, we are proud to offer this free ITAD consultation. It presents an opportunity to discuss the importance of proper ITAD practices and the impact they can have on an organisation’s carbon footprint. Sustainability is a core value at Wisetek, and it is inherent in our operations and our company’s culture. I would like to thank all of our employees for their continued dedication in this area.”
Sustainability is a key priority for Wisetek. The company has a dedicated environmental committee in place, with the objective of continually improving the internal environmental policies and processes at its facilities across Ireland, the UK, the USA, the Middle East, and Thailand.
Wisetek operates a Zero Landfill Policy and has processed over 135,000 metric tonnes of electronic equipment and over 18 million parts to date. The company has erased and destroyed over 12 million disk drives and over 7,000 enterprise rack systems have been refurbished or newly manufactured.
